From his childhood, he saw politics all around him as his uncle Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav (Netaji) had become Chief Minister of the most influential state of India, Uttar Pradesh and was working to expand Samajwadi Party in the state. While any political activity took place around him he used to take keen interests in knowing what the people are doing and how it will make an impact. As a child, whenever his father was watching any political news he barges him with a million questions about it.
His schooling took place in Scholars Home, Dehradun and Theosophical School, Etawah. Mr Anshul Yadav was a born leader, as during school time his list of friends was as long as a list could get, belonging to different socio/economic backgrounds. As a child, he would encourage his classmates to stay united and take initiatives in-class activities. He often raises issues with the respective teachers which are faced by the students as a whole or by any individual student.
For his higher studies, he went to Noida to pursue his BBA from Amity University. It was the time when he started developing interests in reading about Socialism, Lohia, Netaji and the formation of Samajwadi Party. People can say it was the stage where he made up his mind that he should join politics in future. During vacations whenever he comes back to Etawah, he often works with his mother who was heading the post of Chairman, District Council of Etawah. In addition to that, he used to attend marriages and other social programmes which were providing him with the initial impression about the field. One thing which was distinct about him that all of his childhood friends were very well connected with him even after he was living outside Etawah for so long and they were often seen at the Etawah Railway Station receiving and dropping him. One can say that it is not a big deal but people of Etawah had started recognising his potential with the way people were getting associated with him.
One of the vacations had completely proved the speculations people were making earlier. It was the year 2007, Netaji was fighting election from Bharthana, part of Etawah district. Mr Anshul Yadav was asked by the elders of the family to look after the campaign within the constituency. For 2 months he campaigned intensively from door to door within the constituency. There was no doubt about Netaji’s winnability from there but this opportunity has given him a chance to understand politics in a practical way and also to the people to judge his leadership capabilities.
After finishing his graduation he came back to Etawah in the year 2009. It was the year of Lok Sabha Elections, his brother Mr Dharmendra Yadav was declared as Samajwadi Party’s candidate from Badaun. So he started campaigning for him and was assigned a duty to majorly supervise Badaun and Bisauli Vidhan Sabha. After that, in 2010 he managed the election of his mother for Chairman of District Council Etawah. The two consecutive election wins had helped him develop organisational and leadership capabilities along with that it had boosted his confidence. Though, he had not entered into active politics yet.
He entered into active politics through Chatra Jagrukta Abhiyan in the year 2010 where he conducted tours of many schools and colleges within the Etawah district to encourage them to join Samajwadi Party to bring change. The programme saw a huge turnout of youth and provided a platform for many who are now office holders within the party structure. By the end of the Abhiyan, he had become a popular name among the public. The Abhiyan was the turning point in his politics.
After that, with his increasing popularity and strong organisational capability in 2011, he was assigned the duty by the party to manage election in Takha block of Jaswantnagar Vidhan Sabha (District - Etawah) and to organise rallies in Etawah. Later, close to the election in 2012, he was given the responsibility to manage elections in all the 3 Vidhan Sabha of district Etawah. After coming into power in the year 2012, he constantly remained in touch with the public and brought various schemes and projects from the government which could benefit the public. In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he campaigned in various constituencies like Mainpuri, Badaun and Azamgarh followed by a by-election in Mainpuri. Mr Anshul Yadav had consistently fulfilled his responsibilities and brought desired results for the party in each of the tasks assigned to him.
After working for the organisation and election management for the party for almost 6 years he was declared as the candidate of District Council of Etawah by the party. He campaigned extensively to make maximum members of the Samajwadi Party within the District Council Elections and was able to bring a majority of them into the house. Later on, he was elected as Chairman of District Council unopposed. His oath ceremony took place in Numaish Maidan, Etawah on 14th January 2016. The oath ceremony was attended by thousands and people still remember it as one of the biggest gatherings Etawah has ever seen. As a Chairman he has initiated a record number of projects in the public interests which are easily visible now in all parts of Etawah.
In 2017 & 2019 he was appointed as Samajwadi Party’s star campaigner for Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha elections as part of which he campaigned in various districts of Uttar Pradesh like Azamgarh, Badaun, Mainpuri, Kannauj, Sonbhadra, Gorakhpur and Maharajganj.
Although Mr Anshul Yadav was born in a political family where he saw politics from his childhood days, however the way he came into politics by working at the grassroots level from villages to block and then block to district level has provided him with substantial knowledge about politics from ground level to the top level. Additionally, the leadership qualities which he has developed over a period of time has helped him in connecting with the public in a much closer way. The amount of experience he has gained by working for the party’s organisation or by holding a government post provides him with an advantage. With all these qualities and achievements he has earned in a very short period, one can say that it is just the beginning there is a lot more to come.
